Listen to the world premiere of Daniel Despins "Forgotten Hearts"

This live performance of "Forgotten Hearts" was performed by the Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band on April 29, 2017.

Daniel Despins (b. 1994) composes contemporary classical music flavored with many different styles, including jazz, rock, folk, and traditional music, with strong influences from neo-Romantic music of the 20th and 21st centuries. He has written for large instrumental and chamber ensembles, as well as smaller works for duets and solo instruments. Last year, his work for wind quintet, “Medusa,” received third place in the 2016 American Prize Competition in chamber music composition, in the student division; and most recently, he won the 2017 Gregory Andrew Paroulek Award in Composition, which is given to outstanding composers studying at the University of Delaware. Mr. Despins currently resides in Newark, Delaware, where he studies music composition at the University of Delaware, under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer Barker."
